Island In The Sun
So, we haven't put up anything about our first Road Trip...So I figured I'd start. Have some pictures. I should have taken more, but oh well. And I wish I had some flattering ones of myself....but oh well. I've never exactly been photogenic. *sigh*

It was tres fun, except for the whole coming down with a sickness that included chills and fever and other unpleasantries. Nothing like driving for hours on end with the music blasting.

The water at The Keys was gorgeous. I was not disappointed. It is indeed the wonderous blue-green gem-like color that the pictures in magazines and brochures boast (my pictures don't do it justice really). Too bad we didn't get to make it all the way to Key West though...we left too late to have gotten there before sundown. We got about half way down....to Marathon Key and Sombrero Beach. Despite The Keys being all islands, it's surprisingly difficult to find a bloody beach.....

Clubbing was a bust. South Beach is basically only 21+ friendly, and fairly crowded. We saw what was either a sleeping hobo or a dead body wrapped in celophane at the foot of a posh designer boutique. Marcy and I were confused and perturbed.

Traffic is a bitch. I can't ever complain about traffic in Tampa and this area in general ever again basically. Craazzzyyyyy. And Yany is dyslexic with her directions. While screaming "Go Right!!!", which I was, she was pointing Left...which I could not see...and thus I was extremely confused and we had a near-death experience. Well no, not really. But if I wasn't quicker with reflexes it could have been. Or we would have gotten off at the wrong exit....and that can be a pain in the ass.

We found gas stations that had no gas to sell. That was interesting. The confused motorists resorted to stretching their limbs and smoking....which apparently they felt was necessarily since there was no apparently threat of combustion with the lack of gas. And I suck for long trips since I seem to have the smallest bladder -ever-.

The whole 2 and a half days spent there and we were only at the beach for a handful of hours. Oh wells. Next time we'll plan better or something. I dunno. The ride home at night was extremely soothing...second only to speeding down the roads and bridges in the afternoon and during sunset in The Keys with the windows down and the music up loud.
Wonderfulness.

We made it to and from on our first small road trip. Can't wait to see where we go over the summer and/or next year! XD One you start you just can't stop.
